MoneySavingExpert, Martin Lewis, has issued a warning to anyone who is self employed and able to claim the third round of the SEISS, after he highlighted a flaw in the government's scheme.
Martin Lewis posted his concerns on social media by pointing out that the Self Employment Income Support Scheme is 'binary.' This means that, even if your income is only down 10%, if you qualify for the scheme you can get the whole amount (up to £7,500).
The Money Saving Expert says, had the SEISS been more graduated, it wouldn't have cost much more to expand to many who are #ExcludedUK.
Many MSE fans left comments underneath Mr Lewis' post, some criticising the government and questioning why so many people are still unable to access any of the governments COVID financial support schemes, while others, 'are actually doing incredibly well.'

ExcludedUK is a non profit grassroots NGO founded to provide a platform for those denied fair and adequate financial support from the Governments COVID-19 Support schemes since the pandemic began in March. With a community of over 60,000 members across all industries, age groups and regions, we estimate that three million UK tax payers have been excluded from the same support as others, which has lead to thousands of people losing their livelihoods, careers, and homes, and sadly, for some, their lives.
ExcludedUK has been fundraising to provide urgent help and support for those affected in the forms of business and career advice, debt support and 121 counselling sessions within 48 hours. Please find more information on our website www.excludeduk.org.
